Histoire: Homos ou hétéros, voire les deux, Camille, Ariane, Nico, Eva et Lili sont plutôt libérés sur le plan sexuel, mais offrent à leurs parents respectifs l'image de jeunes gens bien sous tous rapports. Josépha, la mère de Camille, une grande bourgeoise déjantée, décide de sortir de l'hypocrisie générale et invite tout le monde dans son château le temps d'un week-end confidences. Mélodrames, chassés-croisés, quiproquos, fous-rires et situations embarrassantes, ce week-end ne va pas du tout se passer comme prévu.

La vie est dure pour Camille, Eva, Nico et Lili. Lili ne trouve pas l'âme soeur. Eva et Nico n'osent pas avouer leur homosexualité à leurs parents respectifs qui les croient sur le point de se marier. Alors Josepha, la mère de Camille décide de rassembler, dans sa demeure provençale, le temps d'un week-end, les amis de sa fille et leurs parents... l'occasion d'un "coming out" collectif. Jeune réalisateur français militant pour la cause homosexuelle, Stéphane Giusti a su s'entourer d'une impressionnante distribution pour son premier film. Plein de bonnes intentions, il nous dresse une charmante galerie de portraits délicieusement caricaturaux. Un côté kitsch ajoute au charme de l'oeuvre. On gardera le souvenir de Johnny Hallyday en torero ou de Marie-France Pisier sensible au charme de son hôtesse. Un sujet fort, un ton moderne et insolent, un film qui, au-delà de l'homosexualité, est un appel à la tolérance et au respect des différences.

Don't read the following lines if you haven't seen the movie, but I can't sympathize with somebody who enjoys losing their virginity to someone who's just learned their wife has died.

Histoire: Quelque part entre Diabolo Menthe de Diane Kurys et le monde factice d'Emmanuelle, un film commercial sans grand relief . Ici débuta gentiment en short moulant, Emmanuelle Beart, admirable muse du cinéma français.

Ce film est un véritable Ovni:
La première fois qu'on le voit, on reste tellement surpris par le spectacle, si particulier qu'on ressent le besoin irresistible de le visionner à nouveau.
Ce qu'il y a de formidable avec Priscilla, folle du désert, c'est qu'on ne se lasse pas de le voir et qu'à chaque fois, on découvre un peu plus de poésie, de subtilité (si, si)derrière chaque personnage.
C'est aussi un formidable hymne à la différence et à la tolérance.
Le casting est un plat de choix puisqu'on retrouve :
- Terence Stamp acteur anglais magistral dans son rôle de transexuel
- Hugo Weaving plus connu pour ses rôles dans Matrix et Le Seigneur des Anneaux mais ceux qui l'apprécient savent que son immense talent d'acteur est encore bien plus visible dans ses films précédents : Proof, Priscilla et en 2003 After the deluge, qui campe un homo pas vraiment assumé qui reste marié à une femme délirante, tendance lesbienne, et n'ose avouer à son fils la réalité de sa personne.
- Guy Pearce fait ici ses débuts et laisse présager d'un gros potentiel, effectivement confirmé dans ses prestations dans Mémento, LA Confidential et Deux frères.
Priscilla est un film à la fois drôle et touchant, qui fait réfléchir tout en divertissant à souhait le téléspectateur. Alors n'hésitez pas à le visionner surtout si la vie vous semble morose.

Critique: Enfin une série avec de la Vraie Lesbienne dedans. Une analyse Super Fine des relations lesbos et homos de ce nouveaux millénaire, des acteurs super sex eh surtout Miracle pour une fois, des Lesbiennes Super Sexy avec des vrais rôles et crédibles. Ah bien sur elle frappe parfois ou ça fait un peu ou beaucoup mal cette série, et elle est pas forcément bien politically correct mais la vraie vie elle est comme ca non ?
Critique: Enfin une vraie série culte qui traite de notre communauté! Tout le monde se reconnaît dans l'un des magnifiques personnages de cette série ou dans les situations vécues par ces derniers. Ni voyeurisme, ni démagogie, Queer as Folk va droit au but et nous touche au plus profond de nous même. A conseiller à tous nos potes hétéros!

En 1982, Fassbinder qui n'a plus rien à prouver abandonne ses tabous et offre une oeuvre unique, une histoire crue à l'esthétique troublante, et certainement son film le plus personnel, teinté d'onirisme et d'érotisme sauvage.

Histoire: Tiré du roman The Wives Of Bath par Susan Swan, c'est l'histoire de trois lycéennes qui découvrent la vie et l'amour dans un collège de jeunes filles.
Histoire: Tout d'abord, que ceux rebutés par la performance de Piper Perabo dans Coyote Girls ne s'inquiètent pas : dans ce film, la jeune actrice prouve largement son talent réel - elle habite le personnage de Paulie et en fait un être forcément attachant, même dans ses extrêmes. Les deux autres actrices principales, Jessica Paré et Mischa Barton (trop méconnue en France), sont également remarquables, avec une mention spéciale pour cette dernière, toute en retenue. Donc, pas de problème du côté de l'interprétation, pas plus que de l'écriture d'ailleurs. Bien qu'assez loin du livre dont il s'inspire, Lost and Delirious reste une histoire boulversante, témoin d'une certaine réalité pour beaucoup de jeunes femmes. La réalisation suit, pas nécessairement renversante en soi, mais juste ce qu'il faut.

I've just come back from Palm Springs where everyone was raving about this film. They said I'd be laughing my head off and they were right.
It's the funniest film I've seen in years.
It all centres on the death of the town's respectable mother & sister who goes on a sex spree after, allegedly, suffing from a tumour in the brain. After having sex with her daughters best friends husband, she trips over his false legs and dies. We only ever see her later in the film in the coffin being cursed at by all those left behind to cope with the mess.
But the show is stolen by Brotherboy, who is the above's son, a camp enough soul with a healthy & harmless obsession with dressing up in women's clothes.
Here's one scene:
"Oh my god. You've got no panties!" Screams Brotherboy whilst being seduced by his analyst in the mental asylum where's he's been committed there by his mother for the past 20years to protect him from the mean world that won't tolerate his love of dressing up as Tammy Wynette. The analyst is frustrated at his refusal to take masterbation excersices to cure him of his homosexuality - hence proving her theory that it can be cured and giving her a chance of appearing on Oprah.
"Did you try the masterbation excercises and think of a woman?" she asks. "Yes I did try and thought of Miss Jane Hathaway [from Beverly Hillbillies]"
"My god" moans the analyst "She's hardly a women, she's more of a man in drag"
"Yes I know" says Brotherboy,"Which got me on to thinking of Jetherine..."
This film must come out on video soon so I can buy loads of copies to give to all my friends.
If you ever get the chance to see this movie gem, drop whatever you're doing and run for a ticket straight away.
Oh and Beau Bridges is fat & ugly and Olivia Newton-John plays a mean looking Country & Western lesbian.

Histoire: Les funérailles de Grand-Mère Peggy, qui s'est rompu le cou entrébuchant sur la jambe de bois de son amant, réunissent la plus incroyable des familles texanes :
Il y a tout d'abord ses deux filles cancanières professionnelles, LaVonda et Latrelle, son amant G.W. et son épouse pleine de ressentiment, et la soeur de Peggy, Sissy qui a vraiment choisi le mauvais moment pour arrêter de fumer...
Mais ce serait compter sans quelques invités de dernière minute : le frère de LaVonda, Earl interné depuis 23 ans dans une institution pour "homosexualité aggravée de travestissement", Ty le fils gay de Latrelle qui veut faire son coming-out, et Bitsy Mae une ancienne star de la Country Music qui a eu, elle aussi, une liaison avec la défunte...

Un film, déjà culte dans le monde gay et lesbien (il a reçu de nombreuses récompenses), où les personnages sont plus attachants les uns que les autres. Une histoire simple, mais qui touche par son côté profondément humain, le tout relevé d'une note d'excentricité. Le bonus: La présence de la magnifique Olivia Newton-John qui incarne ici une lesbienne tatouée, incroyable non ?

Story: An Arkansas waitress and a housewife shoot a rapist and take off in a '66 Thunderbird. Louise (Susan Sarandon) is working in a fast food restaurant as a waitress and has some problems with her friend Jimmy, who, as a musician, is always on the road. Thelma (Geena Davis) is married to Darryl who likes his wife to stay quiet in the kitchen so that he can watch football on TV. One day they decide to break out of their normal life and jump in the car and hit the road. Their journey, however, turns into a flight when Louise kills a man who threatens to rape Thelma. They decide to go to Mexico, but soon they are hunted by American police.
Review: Thelma & Louise is a feminist manifesto writ large on the big screen, a smart and funny gender reversal of the standard Hollywood buddy formula, a road movie extraordinaire, with characters who became instant cultural icons.

Histoire: Thelma (Geena Davis) et sa copine Louise (Susan Sarandon) n'ont pas eu beaucoup de chance dans la vie. La première doit supporter un mari despotique et ultra possessif, la seconde est plus que lasse de son job de serveuse et de son petit ami qui la délaisse. Lorsque Louise suggère à Thelma de s'échapper pour un week-end entre filles, Thelma saute sur l'occasion. Mais l'excursion va prendre une tournure imprévue.
Critique: Entre Easy Rider et Bonnie and Clyde, Thelma et Louise se révélait en 1991 une magnifique ode à la liberté et à l'amitié. Basé sur le scénario rageur et politiquement incorrect de Callie Khouri, ce road movie fut considéré, à tort, comme une oeuvre féministe, alors qu'il avait juste l'audace d'évoquer les aventures de deux femmes qui tentaient de contrôler leur vie, de reconquérir leur liberté au mépris des hommes qui les entourent, souvent peu recommandables.
Fait assez rare à Hollywood pour être signalé, le réalisateur Ridley Scott et les producteurs n'ont pas changé une ligne au récit original (Callie Khouri y veillait). Le film, dont les splendides images sont d'Alan Biddle, a remporté un énorme succès puis six nominations aux Oscars (seul le scénario a été récompensé). Susan Sarandon et Geena Davis y sont exceptionnelles, tout comme Harvey Keitel (en gentil flic !) et Brad Pitt sexy en diable, qui effectuait là sa première apparition marquante au cinéma.

Story: Lesbian TV Series - Follows the lives and loves of a small, close-knit group of lesbians living in Los Angeles as well as the friends and family members that either support or loath them. Gay or Straight, you've gotta see this!
Story: Appreciation of a fan - The L Word is one of the most original shows I've ever seen.
It's the only real lesbian show ever made.
It's breaks down stereotypes, and shows you that not all lesbians are butch.
It deals with real issues that lesbians have, but at the same time maintains its humor (some of the one liners are hilarious).
It's not trying to be perfect or overly explicit (although the sex scenes are nowhere near self-conscious).
The women on the show are all gorgeous and very talented.
The acting is the most solid part of the show. Some of the characters show so much emotion with so little dialogue (like my personal favorite, Marina, played by Karina Lombard).
The show has no limitations. Pretty much every boundary was crossed by the end of the first episode, and that's a good thing.
This is by far my favorite show, and if you haven't seen it you really should.
Gay or straight, you'll love it.
My only complaint is that Karina Lombard isn't coming back for season 2. Hopefully s'll be back for future seasons.

Histoire: Appréciation d'un internaute - Série géniale accompagnée d'une B.O. magnifique et d'actrice bourrée de talent, cette série n'est pas cliché bien au contraire; elle prouve que les homosexuels ont comme tout le monde leur joies, leur peines, leur doutes ... et surtout leur humour! J'apprécie vraiment qu'une tel série ai fait son apparation, tout simplement magnifique sensuel et amusant; dès la sortie du coffret DVD je me jette dessus!
